Baylee's room/ half way done!

Baylee's Room

Here is Baylee's room right after we moved in.

Here is Baylee's room with a little paint job!!! I love the color purple that we picked! We are planning on getting circles cut out of different colors of Vinyl in different sizes to put around the room on the top half. I love how it is all coming together. We figured we better get it done for her before the baby comes so she doesn't get upset when we start getting the baby's room all set up and decorated!

After I got all done painting and was putting everything back in her room for her she started telling me where everything went and would get upset if I didn't put it back the way she wanted it. I even had to hang the pictures on the wall where she wanted them! She is so opinionated.

This looks like a room made for a little princess!

Today I woke up with a list of things to do a mile long and have not even gotten a couple of them done because I have no motivation. At times like this I wonder where motivation comes from. I also wonder why I let things get to the point that I get overwhelmed. And no I am not talking about house work! I do let that get out of hand at times but have been very good about not letting that happen lately. I have known that I have to give the lesson in Relief Society on Sunday for well over a month and known my topic for just under a month and you would think I would have at least started looking for some inspiration but no here I sit still not motivated to do it! I am not scared this time around so I wonder if fear is a motivator for me. Last time I had half my lesson written about a month before my lesson. This time if things don't change I will be writing it the night before! Everyday I tell my self tomorrow I will be motivated, my mind will be able to focus better and everyday I am disappointed. So once again I ask, where does motivation come from?

The DRESS!

So I am going to start this post off with a complaint! My dang computer wont load all of my pictures off of my camera so I am missing some of the ones I want!

Ok now that that is out of the way I can move on to the most important part of this post! I finished Baylee's Easter dress and it only took me one day! I was going to buy her one but I couldn't find one that I loved enough to spend money on. I love her in long dresses but she grows out of them to darn fast! I was surfing around blog land one day and saw this dress and thought that is so cute wish I could make one for Baylee. Then the thought came to me Why Not! I decided I was going to do it. So before I could change my mind I talked to Jon about it and then headed to the store to get the stuff(ok so it was several days later that I actually got to the store). I started sewing on Thursday morning and several interruptions and hours later I almost had it done. There were a few mistakes made but I took it in stride and figured it was a learning experience. I finished this morning after Baylee was up so that I could make sure I got everything in the right place. I love it!! I love how it turned out and love the fact that I made it! I am starting to really like sewing and seeing things come together. I might just have a hidden talent that needs a little developing!! YEAH for ME!!!!

Front View not the best of the shots but like I said my computer and camera are acting up!

Up close of the back, I even made material covered buttons to match!!!!

sunny days!

We have had some of the most beautiful weather and it has given me spring fever! On one of those days Jon and I thought it would be fun to teach Baylee how to ride her bike. So we loaded up in the car headed to the store and bought her a helmet and a few things to fix her bike so she could ride it. When we got home her and Daddy got to work on fixing it. I pulled out my bike so that I could show her how it was done. She was so excited! She hopped on the bike and couldn't figure out what to do next. Jon tried to show her how to pedal, I tried to show her how to pedal but the girl just could not figure it out. She just wanted to be able to sit on her bike and let mom and dad push her. We have not tried again but her bike sits in the garage and every time we go to the car she has to ring the bell on it! Can't wait tell she gets it figured out then her and I can take a bike ride.

New Adventures

With the season change comes new adventures! Baylee is enjoying that the weather outside is getting warm enough that she can play outside for longer periods of time. Playing outside is not the only new adventure for our family. We have the challenge of making our lawn, that was on the very last breath of life when we moved in, into the lush green lawn we always dreamed of.

Also WE ARE GETTING A BABY! We are all very excited to enter this new adventure with some wonderful people. When we heard that there was a birth couple interested in us we got excited but were very cautious about it because of some previous events in our journey to a larger family. We hoped but never let the dream take root until the other night when Cindy and Isaac informed us they did for sure want us to adopt their baby! How exciting! We are waiting to find out what the baby is at the ultrasound on April 5th. We are looking forward to not only getting a little brother or sister for Baylee but also to build a relationship with this couple. It is going to be a summer of interesting moments! Yeah for the change of the season.

Baylee the Baker

Baylee loves to be my big helper in the kitchen. She gets so excited when I ask her if she wants to make something. She runs and gets her apron(it is actually mine so I always end up a big mess) and climbs up on a chair to do the work. She is really cute because she has to taste everything before you put it in the bowl. She tries to taste the eggs but I keep telling her they will make her tummy sick. She is getting to be really good at baking as long as I measure out the ingredients and put the stuff in and out of the oven she takes care of the rest. I love having her in the kitchen baking with me it is something we end up doing often because I love to do it and I love how excited she get when she gets to help me. I am always looking for new recipes to try out with her.

My Skirt!!!

I have been wanting to make a skirt for myself for several years but never have felt brave enough to do it. I finally got sick enough of all my skirts and couldn't find any new ones that i liked that fit right so I got brave and started to make me a skirt. I had been practicing my sewing on others things to help build my confidence, I made burp clothes, and then I moved on to cloth diapers for Baylee's baby dolls. Those turned out so well that I decided it was time to take on the skirt. I was so nervous and had to call my mom several times while cutting it out but I made it through that part. I was able to get it cut out and sewn together in a few short hours but had to stop because I didn't have a zipper foot on my machine to finish it. I headed to Wendell and my wonderful patient mom helped me put in the zipper and finish the hem. Those where the two hardest parts of the whole dang thing but I am glad that it is done. I love my new skirt and can't wait to go buy more material to make another one. It is so nice to have a skirt that fits the way I want it to. I am also going to try to make a skirt for Baylee if I can just figure out how to make it the way I want.
