New Adventures

With the season change comes new adventures! Baylee is enjoying that the weather outside is getting warm enough that she can play outside for longer periods of time. Playing outside is not the only new adventure for our family. We have the challenge of making our lawn, that was on the very last breath of life when we moved in, into the lush green lawn we always dreamed of.

Also WE ARE GETTING A BABY! We are all very excited to enter this new adventure with some wonderful people. When we heard that there was a birth couple interested in us we got excited but were very cautious about it because of some previous events in our journey to a larger family. We hoped but never let the dream take root until the other night when Cindy and Isaac informed us they did for sure want us to adopt their baby! How exciting! We are waiting to find out what the baby is at the ultrasound on April 5th. We are looking forward to not only getting a little brother or sister for Baylee but also to build a relationship with this couple. It is going to be a summer of interesting moments! Yeah for the change of the season.

Baylee the Baker

Baylee loves to be my big helper in the kitchen. She gets so excited when I ask her if she wants to make something. She runs and gets her apron(it is actually mine so I always end up a big mess) and climbs up on a chair to do the work. She is really cute because she has to taste everything before you put it in the bowl. She tries to taste the eggs but I keep telling her they will make her tummy sick. She is getting to be really good at baking as long as I measure out the ingredients and put the stuff in and out of the oven she takes care of the rest. I love having her in the kitchen baking with me it is something we end up doing often because I love to do it and I love how excited she get when she gets to help me. I am always looking for new recipes to try out with her.

My Skirt!!!

I have been wanting to make a skirt for myself for several years but never have felt brave enough to do it. I finally got sick enough of all my skirts and couldn't find any new ones that i liked that fit right so I got brave and started to make me a skirt. I had been practicing my sewing on others things to help build my confidence, I made burp clothes, and then I moved on to cloth diapers for Baylee's baby dolls. Those turned out so well that I decided it was time to take on the skirt. I was so nervous and had to call my mom several times while cutting it out but I made it through that part. I was able to get it cut out and sewn together in a few short hours but had to stop because I didn't have a zipper foot on my machine to finish it. I headed to Wendell and my wonderful patient mom helped me put in the zipper and finish the hem. Those where the two hardest parts of the whole dang thing but I am glad that it is done. I love my new skirt and can't wait to go buy more material to make another one. It is so nice to have a skirt that fits the way I want it to. I am also going to try to make a skirt for Baylee if I can just figure out how to make it the way I want.

loving the weather!!!

Days like today where the weather outside turns out to be wonderful can come more often!!! When I woke up today to a messy house and a rainy day I thought "oh man it is going to be a dreary monday" but the weather turned out to be so nice and my house cleaned up fast! I was able to get all the laundry done, dishes all caught up, cleaned the bathrooms, and still had time to make cookies! Then when Jon headed off to work Baylee and I walked down to the park and she got some great playing time in the sun! Days like this give me spring fever! I can't wait for more days like today that I can enjoy working on our yard with Jon and Baylee and letting the girls play outside while I get much needed sun while reading a great book! I was born for spring time!

Ballet!!!!

Aren't they so super cute!!!! Ballet started today and the girls where all over the place with excitement!

I love these two girls so much!!! It was fun to see the excitement as we got ready and how they made sure they had everything and they were trying to do all the ballet moves they thought they new how to do!! I couldn't watch very much of Baylee during her actual class because every time I tried to look in the room she would come running out to tell me all about it and give me a great big hug. She didn't cry at all and that makes me so proud of her. She was a bit nervous that I was going to leave but once I let her know that I was staying the whole time she joined her friends in class with a huge smile on her face.

New Couch

Ok since we moved into our new house we have been wanted to get some new furniture that Jon and I could cuddle on and watch movies together so here is what we ended up with. It is big enough for Jon, Me, Baylee and future children to all cuddle up and watch our favorite movies.
As you can see we have been enjoying it.
