Potty training

So we have decided that it is time for Baylee to be potty trained. Yikes it is hard work! She has been wanting to sit on the potty for months and months now and we let her but nothing ever happens no matter how long she sits there. Today I figured maybe she would do better if she had panties on instead of a pull up. Well I was wrong. We went from being willing and eager to sit on the potty to full blown out tantrums and tears. The problem was is she needed to go but would not go on the potty for nothing and would hold it the hold time she sat on it crying. Then as soon as I figured she must not need to go I would put her panties back on she would then pee. We went through 5 pairs of panties before I figured it would be just as easy to let her go naked. This was worse because she would feel like she had to go and would start going and then realized it was running down her leg so she would hold it. I would try to get her to sit on the potty but that always ended in her in tears. She would then act like she was ok and then it all would happen again. She was not going to go on the potty she was going to try as hard as she could to hold it all day. This created alot more messes then having the panties on. I finally put her pull up back on. I have not given up but figured I would start out slower. Baylee and I went to the store and she got to pick out her favorite chocolates adn then we came home and put the in a jar and printed a picture of the potty she wanted on the Jar and taped it to the jar now she can only have a chocolate if she goes potty in the potty or if she tries really hard to go. Sure hope we start seeing some success before the end of the week so I don't end up giving up.

just an update

So not much is happening in our lives. Jon is looking for a new day job and I am looking for another child to watch. We went from having 3 incomes to one so we are trying to figure out this living on a tight budget. I am enjoying my one on one time with Baylee. She is so much happier when it is just us an no other kids. I am trying to figure out how to make the finances work without me having to watch any kids so that she doesn't have to struggle with that. I know it is good for her so to get use to sharing mom so when we have another baby she doesn't have to adjust that much but I hate to see her having so many tantrums. Other than this we have been busy getting our profile out there to be checked out and hoping that we wont have a super long wait. I have been so busy working on our other blog that I have neglected this one. Our other blog is www.jonandcaylee.blogspot.com it is for our adoption. If you know anyone who is thinking about placing a child for adoption remember to think about us and refer them to LDS family services to check out our profile, from there they will be directed to our blog. We appreciate any help we can get in getting our info out there. The more it is out the higher our chances are of being chosen. I will take time to update this with more pics and stories of us later.

We need your help!

Well as most of you know Jon and I have been trying to adopt a little baby boy for about 7 months. We have been anticipating his arrival with great excitement. Well about a month ago we were informed that the Mother was thinking about not placing the child for adoption. She had some very good reasons not to. We kept hoping that the situations would change. Well the baby was born today and as of now nothing has changed. We are in the process of getting our profile ready to view on the web so keep us in mind if you hear of anyone thinking about adoption and let us know or have them check us out on LDS family services website. We hope to have another baby join our family soon.

The Annual Jenks Family Egg Hunt

This is the first year that I let Baylee dye the eggs and she did so well. We only had one spill and that is when Momma was not paying attention and she grabbed an egg and threw it in the orange dye. It splashed all over her and the rest of us. She learned real fast that she needed to be careful.

So It is April and Boise gets snow!! The hunt was in Mountain Home and we heard that they had gotten 3 inches of snow so we had to break out the snow boots and gloves and all the other great winter gear so we could go hunt the eggs in the snow. Baylee loved it! She still keeps putting on the boots everytime we tell her to get her shoes on. I am afraid she might end up wearing her snow boots with her shorts this summer.
This is Baylee and I waiting for the hunt to begin. She hunts in the 0-4 age group. I figured she would run after the eggs but she took her sweet time.

She was able to find 18 eggs. Next year Jon says he is going to work on her going faster. She really did take her sweet time getting the eggs.
Baylee and several other little kids her age decided it would be fun to hide the eggs for the older kids. After the adults put the eggs out they went around and gathered them into piles and pulled them out of there hiding places. We had to get them to throw them back out before the hunt began.

Then it was daddy's turn. He knows how to go fast. He came in Third place. It was very cold during the Adult hunt and kept getting colder but Baylee would not go inside she had to go with daddy to find the eggs. She loved every minute of the day. Her hands were so cold and she was covered in mud by the end but had a huge smile on her face when she fell to sleep.

Easter Dress

We had Baylee wear her Easter dress the Sunday before Easter since we don't have regular church on Easter because of general conference. She wanted curls so the night before we put the sponge rollers in and got the curls. She looked like a little doll in her dress with her hair done this way.

Ducks

We have this group of ducks that came to our house last year and guess what they are back this year. Not sure if it is the same ducks. Baylee and I got home from shopping the other night and when I got her out of the car the ducks were right there waiting. They were so close you could almost reach down and touch them. They followed us as we went inside and Baylee wanted to take a picture so I helped her get the camera out and take a few. They fell asleep on the grass as soon as we got done taking these pics.

Building Towers

This week I had my friends boys while she worked and Baylee loved having the older boys to play with. They were building blocks together and it was so cute to see her actually building. Usually she tells me to build so she can knock them down. She was so happy when she got it built and then she promptly knocked her tower over.

Oh how they Grow!

This is Baylee and Saidy when we first got Saidy. Baylee loved to cuddle up with her and Saidy was so good about just laying there letting Baylee use her as a pillow. Now see how much they have grown in a year.

Add ImageThey may both be bigger and alot more active but they still are the best of friends. Saidy will still just lay there so that Baylee can do what ever she wants to her. Baylee loves to take care of Saidy and when we let Saidy come in to play all you hear from Baylee is giggles.
