My Bed!!!!

Ok so those of you who have read my blog you know this is what my bed looked like when we moved in. It is just a box spring and a mattress. We had a frame at one point but it was very squeaky and every time one of us moved in bed it woke the other one up so we got rid of it. I also told Jon when we bought a house I wanted to have a nice bedroom set. Well I found a website that has building plans for all kinds of furniture and found a bed I loved and told Jon I wanted him to make it. He kept telling me that he would if he had the tools so this year for Christmas I gave him money towards tools. He had some money he had been saving and was able to buy all the tools he needed. He got to work right away and started building my bed he got it done in time to give to me as an early birthday present. So happy birthday to Me!!!!! Here are pictures of all the work he did!
The first measurement!

The first cut!! I was so excited!!!!

Tons of sanding went into this bed!

Baylee even helped! She loved being Daddy's helper, she would dance to the music, yell when the tools where too loud and carried a measuring tape around to make sure Daddy got all the measurements right!

The headboard, it was so cool to see it all coming together!

The foot board
The painting is the part that took the longest because you had to let it dry and when it is cold out paint doesn't dry very fast. He was only able to work on it between his two jobs which doesn't leave a lot of time. Finally we borrowed a space heater from his mom and from there the painting went a lot faster.
The finished product!!! I love it. It is so high that Baylee has to relearn how to climb up into it. I can't wait to have bedside tables to go with it. I am going to get my bedroom furniture I wanted and it is going to be even more special because it was made by the most wonderful husband ever!! Thanks Jon for being awesome and doing this for me! I love you!
