Luckiest Mommy Ever!!!!

There are many days that I wish I could be pregnant and have an easier time of having children but then there are days that I look at my sweet Baylee and want to cry because I am the luckiest mommy in the WORLD!!! She is super sweet and loving and it melts my heart when she crawls up on the couch next to me and asks me to hold her. I love how she makes me laugh at the silly little things she does, for example she is walking around the house in only her panties and high heels and thinks she looks absolutely beautiful. Yes I get frustrated and tired, but those emotions only last a moment. Everything that Jon and I have gone through on our journey for children has been worth every second we have with Baylee. This second adoption is different from Baylee's in so many ways yet the emotions of it all is the same. I am excited about the arrival of Baby Girl just as much as when we found out about Baylee, and at the same time I am just as sad that my joy results in someone else's sadness. This time around my excitement is not only for my self but for Baylee and the fact that she is going to get a little sister to love and enjoy. She is always talking about her baby sister and how she will get to hold her. When ever I talk about someone coming over to our house she gets excited and asks "they hold my baby sister" I am so lucky to have her and get to enjoy her excitement in life. I am going to say it again I am the luckiest mommy in the WORLD!!!!!!!!!!

Paint Adventures!!!

Since I was a little girl I always wanted a yellow kitchen so now that we own our home I went looking for the yellow that I loved! I found the one I wanted and it has sat in my kitchen since almost day one. I have looked at it several different times a day to make sure that I liked it. Finally I decided it was time to make my kitchen yellow! So here is the before picture. (now as I was loading these pictures I realized I always seem to take pictures when my house is a disaster so ignore the mess focus on the colors of the wall.)

BEFORE

I got out all the paint supplies and went at it. I soon realized that this is not what I was wanting at all. I kept painting because I thought that maybe the finished picture would be different then what I was seeing as I painted well I was wrong! I ended up with I kitchen that I couldn't even stand to be in!

AFTER!

As soon as I was finished I couldn't stand to be downstairs so I headed up to paint the baby's room. Yes I know that was brave seeing how bad the kitchen turned out. Now before I go on I must say this picture is actually later in the day when the light was better and I liked the paint color. It just doesn't look good in certain light. As the day went on I started really liking it but knew I would not be able to stand to be in my kitchen during the morning hours. Any way back to the baby's room.

BEFORE!

This room took us a lot of time to figure out the color. First I fell in love with some curtains from Walmart but when I went to buy them decided I wanted something different so then I shopped around and couldn't find anything that I loved except a shower curtain. So I bought the shower curtain and did some cutting and sewing to make bedroom curtains. I think they turned out well. Any way I loved the orangish pinkish color and decided that the walls in the baby's room would be that color. I found the perfect paint color to match it and was going to buy it but then Jon and I changed our minds and went with this color:

In the picture below you can see the curtains hanging on the crib that inspired this color. I love the color and I love the way it makes the room feel. I am very happy with the way this room turned out.

So after being successful in the Baby's room I figured I could tackle the kitchen again. When Jon got home from work we headed out to get a new paint color. Keep in mind I had the last color picked out for 6 months before I dare painted. We went to the store and found several we liked picked one and bought the paint. We went home and I started painting and I love the color! After two coats of the new color to cover up the yellow I am done. I love the color so much that I am trying to figure out what wall to use the left over paint on!

AFTER!!!

What a day of painting I have had. My arms ache my back hurts, and I am covered in paint but I have two rooms that I love the colors of. Actually now I have 4 rooms that I have painted and loved. Next room on the list is my Bedroom and I can't wait! But that will have to be another day and not any time soon!

The joy's of motherhood.

I have a funny story to share about my sweet Baylee but before I do so I need to let you know that as you read this story to keep in mind that Baylee is obsessed with smelling everything . Now on to the story.

The other night I was sitting at the table studying for my lesson on Sunday when Baylee walks up to me and puts her finger under my nose and says "smell mom" (now keep in mind what I said earlier of her being obsessed with smelling everything so this was not an unusual request) so I take a whiff and notice no strong smell so I ask her "what am I smelling Baylee?" She response "poop mom" You heard right she was having me smell poop on her finger. Now I looked at her finger and it did not look like it had poop on it. I told her to go wash her hands not sit there and sniff it. I then asked where she got the poop from and she says "my bum mom!" Duh but how did it get on her fingers. I never figured that out. Any way I thought it was a funny story and it just shows as a mother you have to be prepared for anything when it comes to these little munchkins they are full of surprises!

Here is Baylee's room right after we moved in.

Here is Baylee's room with a little paint job!!! I love the color purple that we picked! We are planning on getting circles cut out of different colors of Vinyl in different sizes to put around the room on the top half. I love how it is all coming together. We figured we better get it done for her before the baby comes so she doesn't get upset when we start getting the baby's room all set up and decorated!

After I got all done painting and was putting everything back in her room for her she started telling me where everything went and would get upset if I didn't put it back the way she wanted it. I even had to hang the pictures on the wall where she wanted them! She is so opinionated.

Today I woke up with a list of things to do a mile long and have not even gotten a couple of them done because I have no motivation. At times like this I wonder where motivation comes from. I also wonder why I let things get to the point that I get overwhelmed. And no I am not talking about house work! I do let that get out of hand at times but have been very good about not letting that happen lately. I have known that I have to give the lesson in Relief Society on Sunday for well over a month and known my topic for just under a month and you would think I would have at least started looking for some inspiration but no here I sit still not motivated to do it! I am not scared this time around so I wonder if fear is a motivator for me. Last time I had half my lesson written about a month before my lesson. This time if things don't change I will be writing it the night before! Everyday I tell my self tomorrow I will be motivated, my mind will be able to focus better and everyday I am disappointed. So once again I ask, where does motivation come from?

The DRESS!

So I am going to start this post off with a complaint! My dang computer wont load all of my pictures off of my camera so I am missing some of the ones I want!

Ok now that that is out of the way I can move on to the most important part of this post! I finished Baylee's Easter dress and it only took me one day! I was going to buy her one but I couldn't find one that I loved enough to spend money on. I love her in long dresses but she grows out of them to darn fast! I was surfing around blog land one day and saw this dress and thought that is so cute wish I could make one for Baylee. Then the thought came to me Why Not! I decided I was going to do it. So before I could change my mind I talked to Jon about it and then headed to the store to get the stuff(ok so it was several days later that I actually got to the store). I started sewing on Thursday morning and several interruptions and hours later I almost had it done. There were a few mistakes made but I took it in stride and figured it was a learning experience. I finished this morning after Baylee was up so that I could make sure I got everything in the right place. I love it!! I love how it turned out and love the fact that I made it! I am starting to really like sewing and seeing things come together. I might just have a hidden talent that needs a little developing!! YEAH for ME!!!!

sunny days!

We have had some of the most beautiful weather and it has given me spring fever! On one of those days Jon and I thought it would be fun to teach Baylee how to ride her bike. So we loaded up in the car headed to the store and bought her a helmet and a few things to fix her bike so she could ride it. When we got home her and Daddy got to work on fixing it. I pulled out my bike so that I could show her how it was done. She was so excited! She hopped on the bike and couldn't figure out what to do next. Jon tried to show her how to pedal, I tried to show her how to pedal but the girl just could not figure it out. She just wanted to be able to sit on her bike and let mom and dad push her. We have not tried again but her bike sits in the garage and every time we go to the car she has to ring the bell on it! Can't wait tell she gets it figured out then her and I can take a bike ride.
