Oregon Trip: Everything Else!

This was our home away from home. It was nice to have a place big enough for all of us to sleep and hang out.

These are the view from the light house
We went out to the light house because I always wanted to go up in one. Well come to find out Baylee couldn't go up the stairs because she is too short. Grandma was willing to stay outside with her but the wind was blowing and is was so cold and I had forgotten to bring Baylee's jacket. They only let like 2 or 3 up at a time and we didn't want to make Grandma and Baylee stay out in the cold that long so we left but there was a museum that we could take a virtual tour. Jon and I will have to go back without Baylee and take a tour but we will make sure it is also Whale migrating time.
Baylee calls this a doggy and she is giving it a kiss. It was a statue in the museum at the light house.
There wasn't just wild ocean life! There was wild humans we had to cage in.

Grandma and Grandpa with all the grandkids that went on the trip!

Oregon Trip: Hike

Jon and I wanted to take a 1.5 mile hike to some falls, when we asked if anyone wanted to join us David and Grace were the only ones willing. So we headed out. The parking lot for the trail head was under constuction so we parked on the side of the road and headed in. It was 3 adults and 2 two year olds, and one single stroller.

We are still hiking into the falls and this is how the girls are acting can you imagine what the hike out would have been like if we had not had a stroller!

We made it to the falls thanks to Jon pushing the girls in the stroller. They had so much fun because he is such a crazy driver. We had to cross this bridge to get to the falls and it scared me to do so. The bridge is high off the ground over the river and very long. I thought it looked good and sturdy and then I took a step and it starts swinging side to side. I couldn't walk fast enough to get to the other side. It was a beautiful hike and the girls did alot better then I thought.

Oregon Trip: The Beach

This was Baylee's first trip to the ocean. We got there before everyone else so we took her right to the beach. Daddy was so excited to show her the water that they headed right out. She ended up in tears because she did not like the Freezing cold water.

Baylee loved the beach because it was an endless supply of dirt to dig in. As long as she didn't have to go near the water she was good.

I think Jon was the only one crazy enough to go into the water that day. The rest of us were freezing in our pants and sweatshirts.
Baylee must have gotten cold because all of the sudden she went running away from me and up to grandpa, this was not a short distance, when she got there grandpa cuddled her right up to get her warm.
Grace who is a little daredevil got in the water with Uncle Jon and loved it.

Trip to Oregon Day 1

The first leg of our trip was to my friend Kistine's house in Washington. For the first 3 hours of the trip Baylee entertained herself with coloring, singing, and just looking out the window. After that we put in a movie thanks to the Hirschi family lending us the DVD player for the car. She loved that she could watch her favorite movies while we were driving. She did so well that we made excelent time and showed up at Kistine's house earlier then expected. Amazingly enough she did not sleep the whole 6 hours drive!

Kistine and Matt took us to this Park in Vancouver that had a water structure for the girls to play in. In the past and when I say past I mean last week, Baylee would have nothing to do with water especially sprinklers and things like that so I figured she would not get wet. After she saw Alexa running and having a blast she decided to try it out and discovered how fun it could be. She was soaked from head to toe when we left but it was so much fun watching her have a blast. Thanks Kistine for the great memories!

The Everything Dance

We have borrowed the video Zoe's Dance Moves from the Library about 10 times because Baylee loves it. She will watch it over and over. She now has gotten to the point where she will say all of the lines before the actors say them. She is very cute when she does the dance as well. I have been trying to catch her doing the dance for awhile but as soon as she sees the camera she either gets shy or wants to play with the camera. I was finally able to get her doing it. She is so funny because she has to go put on some of her church shoes for her dance shoes. I have been looking around for a dance class to put her in because she loves to dance so much. Most of them don't start kids until they are 3 so we have a few months to find one we like.

One of the many great things about having a little girl is that I have so much stuff to pass down to her. My mom had my Grandpa make a little kitchen for me when I was little and I have been able to give this to Baylee. I love watching her play with it and have as much fun as I remember having. There are so many other things such as a baby doll highchair, baby doll cradle, rocking chair and many baby dolls that I watch her play with that I had loved so much.

Christmas in July

Baylee found her Frosty the Snowman video that we have had hidden since Christmas and has only wanted to watch it a million times. She loves to sing and dance to it. She comes over and grabs my hand and says "Dance with me". I thought it was so cute I just had to share it.
